Many tenants don’t fully understand their rights, and that’s where most problems start.

When people don’t know what they are entitled to, it becomes easier for issues to be overlooked or handled unfairly.

As a tenant, you have the right to live in a safe and habitable space. That means basic things like water, structure, and essential services should be reasonably functional.

You also have the right to proper notice before eviction or major changes, depending on your agreement. Sudden decisions without communication are not how tenancy is meant to work.

Privacy is another important right. Your home should not be entered without proper notice or reason.

At the same time, tenants also have responsibilities, like paying rent on time and taking reasonable care of the property.

When both sides understand their roles, things run more smoothly. Most conflicts happen when expectations are unclear.

Knowing your rights doesn’t make you difficult. It simply helps you protect yourself and communicate better.

Did you already know these rights? Or is this new to you? Share your thoughts in the comments.
